Grant's TombIt is an oft-repeated riddle: "Who is buried at Grant's Tomb?" It is a trick question, but not in the way most people think. The answer is simple: NO ONE. As these pictures prove, no one is buried at Grant's Tomb, because it is an above ground mausoleum. Interred at the mausoleum are Ulysses S. Grant and his wife, Julia. Grant's Tomb is located in Riverside Park, near 122nd Street, on the west side of Manhattan. It is the second largest mausoleum in the Western Hemisphere, rivaled only by the President James Garfield Memorial in Cleveland, Ohio. Grant's Tomb is across the street from Riverside Church. It is also a stone's throw away from the poignant Amiable Child burial ground on Riverside Drive West.
