The place with the green sign was a bar named Bakersfield. I never went in there, and I barely even remember it as I was not much into bars in 1992 and 1993 when I lived at 5057 Broadway. Tom's Foreign Auto Repairs, at 5060 Broadway, is next door to Bakersfield. At the top left corner is the above ground 1/9 subway station. Tom's Foreign Auto Repairs is today called Broadway Mechanic Services, and the place where Bakersfield used to be is now empty. (October, 2008)
