This picture reminds me of how hard it was to describe the feeling of standing in between the Twin Towers at the World Trade Center. The way they rose up so sharp and clean had an effect of lifting my spirit, but not in a heroic feeling way. Metaphorically, there was no arms-raised feeling of exaltation. Raising your arms in sympathetic motion with the towers had a feeling of being forced into it. I can not say that these buildings made me feel uplifted, but somehow they made something in me feel raised. A few months after they were gone, standing as close to this spot as you could get, I felt like the emptiness sprawled up into the skies.
