The answer is simple: NO ONE. As these pictures prove, no one is buried at Grant's Tomb. It is an above ground mausoleum. Interred in above-ground crypts at the mausoleum are Ulysses S. Grant and his wife, Julia.

The Ulysses Grant Mausoleum is located in Riverside Park, near 122nd Street, on the west side of Manhattan. It is the second largest mausoleum in the Western Hemisphere, bested only by the President James Garfield Memorial in Cleveland, Ohio.

Grant's Tomb is across the street from Riverside Church. It is also a stone's throw away from the poignant Amiable Child burial ground on Riverside Drive West.
