cemeteries and graveyards

Just fascinating, I could check out these photos all night.
It's quite interesting,so much history. I am very happy to
see the Irish Famine cemetery,is finally being saved.

Telephone Exchange

Have you ever seen Hopkins?
I have no idea what it means,
but very young, in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, our party line
(which of course I was not allowed to use), was a Gin run:
Hopkins -34567.
I was too young to ever be allowed to use the phone
& never made a call home,
so I don't know how the Hopkins was dialed,
but every teacher, etc. to whom I had to recite it, would be initially unbelieving.
I would even add that we were lucky to have it be so easy,
to teach all the babies we had!
I think the whole neighborhood had the same exchange,
but since we bordered Milwaukee,
possibly there was some sense of turf among the (older) kids,
dividing into teams, etc.

Flushing Cemetary

The picture you show of the Louis Armstrong grave site at Flusing Cemetary is not the original.....I lived up the block on 162 nd street and was there for the funeral....all the stars were there..Tons of limo's.....I have several photos, taken @ 1971-2, of the opriginal head stone, it had a Bronze trumpet and handcercheif...It was vandalized and replaced.

Also, Carl Ludwig, one of the First Medal of Honor recepients, is also buried in Flushing....

seriously... i read some other comments and have come to this conclusion: this world we r in is so boring tht some ppl invent stuff 2 make it more exciting. sure i spose tht these such creatures (and many more) COULD possibly exist w/out many humans knowing. but get real! it might be hard 2 face it but these magical beings could be a figment of our imagination. and yet... they may be out there. who r we 2 say they exist? who r we 2 say they dont? i understand tht if one of these "werewolves" does show itself, scientists would kill it and dissect it and BLAH! but maybe we r all just insane juveniles 2 think there is magic and wonder in this dark cold planet. and maybe these beasts everyone worships r evil! who r we 2 assume they r kind and loving? who r we 2 say they arent? ahhh.... so many questions fill a young mind....
