"WanderLIC" is a non-word I coined to combine "wanderlust" with "L.I.C." "L.I.C." is the abbreviation for "Long Island City," a part of Western Queens which historically comprised Astoria, Ditmars, Ravenswood, Steinway, and several other town which eventually became neighborhoods of Queens. Today "Long Island City" is generally used in reference to the 11101 zip code, with areas ranging from somewhat industrial to utterly blighted. These pictures document some of my long walks and travels around Long Island City and Astoria.
