Henry Chadwick Burial Site, Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn
Henry Chadwick was a writer, statistician, and historian whose popular books and newspaper columns are credited with popularizing the game of baseball. His well-maintained grave, decorated with baseball gear and memorabilia, is a definite stand-out among surrounding graves at Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn. Chadwick's role in popularizing the game has earned him the title "Father of Base Ball." Chadwick is the father of "Base Ball," not "baseball." It appears even Chadwick's biographer got this wrong.
