  • Ro Dictionary and English Key
  • 'Ro is an a priori constructed language created by Rev. Edward Powell Foster beginning in 1904. In Ro, words are constructed using a category system. For example, the word for red is "bofoc", and yellow is "bofof". All words starting with "bofo-" signify colors. Foster did not simply try to design a better language in general, but to optimize his language for one design criterion: recognizability of unknown words.' Read more at Wikipedia.

    About my Ro project:
I transcribed the Dictionary of Ro for my own purposes, but others have suggested that this dictionary could be a fun source for unique or unusual screen-names for video games or online chat rooms, forums, and BBSes. Hey, why not? If someone appeared in a virtual reality room with the screen-name 'Bimam' I'd be interested to learn that their name means 'thunder' in the artificial language of Ro.
