- just hanging up the phone on AT&T. It seems like I've spent the last week on the phone yelling at them as they lied to me like the dogs they are.
God, it's been ages since I've been here. Played hookey from work yesterday, went out of town last weekend, been stressing out about the same old (girlfriend) things and trying to sort out a new job and leave the liquor and soda advertising to someone else. I'm sick of reverse commuting from nyc to conneticut where I have to deal with the insanely mediocre and mundane on a daily basis. They're not even unbalance in interesting ways, even their personal problems are boring me.
Blindswine- I can totally relate to your gear fetish. I haven't seen the CS2X specs but it makes my mouth water to think about it. I have the CS1X and 2 years on i'm still loving it (even though i'm secretly pining for a nord lead). Of course I have no $$ to spend on gear as I've just sunk it all in a motu 2408 and yamaha 01v. I'm sure you can imagine how long that'll take to pay off, but it's worth it. That is, I think it would be, if my relationship didn't take up so much damn time and energy that I could get to use the stuff. A friend of mine told me that playing music and having a girlfriend were totally incompatible. I'm not sure I believe that, but another friend told me it took him 2 years to get his wife to the place where she'd let him do his work in peace. (note - this is not girl bashing... it's relationship bashing! C'mon, everybody join in !) He told me he had to 'train her'. Who wants to be in a relationship where you have to do that. (don't answer that you Vault loving fools.)
Sarah - beware of pill prescribing doctors. Maybe my K experience wasn't so good for me, but having gone out with someone before and after she was put on Paxil, I can assure you that nothing was solved with that drug. Maybe it works for some, but man, it did scary things to my ex.
Actually, I think my ex may have just been scary to begin with, but beware of little pink pills...
Maybe you should try some sushi therapy. Just go to your nearest japanese restaurant and gorge (don't forget the sake). I assure you it's cheaper than the paxil. And it'll probably make you feel better too.

okay, so maybe i'm just jealous.

so it looks like i'll be taking my money and buying a CS1x this weekend.

You must wait. Otherwise you will not stop suffering after the cs2x comes out. when i got my cs1x i spent time pining away for the an1x.
don't get me wrong, i love my cs1x. But i wouldn't mind upgrading it. plus, don't buy it at sam ash, they charge way too much. i think they have it at $599. you should try thoroughbred music (mail order) or maybe musician's friend. or at least go next door to manny's. they're not as obnoxious over there. sam ash if full of lying, thieving bastards!

just got off the phone with my dad. he doesn't sound happy. that troubles me a lot. he sounded a bit unhappy this morning as well. i hate that. when i was talking to him just now on the phone, the cd player hit nina simone's rendition of "ooh ooh child". it was pretty dramatic. almost made me want to cry. my earliest memory is of my father rocking me in his arms and singing that song to me while nina sang in the background via the album "Here Comes The Sun"... released in 1971, the year of my birth.
the whole day was on the wack. met mark at applejacks, where i think they put bad mayonaisse on my pastrami. i've been choking back that unsettling "i'm gonna puke" feeling since we hit mcgee's. thought it was the flu, but now i'm thinking it was either bad mayonaisse, the "i'm a retired flight pilot who has a $18,000 monitor and makes $45 an hour playing games" guy, or maybe just having to hear mark flirting with the BBW. he's got a big nikon, by the way.
shit.
that was all pretty funny, actually.
but i need to go home and see mom and dad to make sure they're ok. at least for now. they're mortality bugs the hell out of me. the foundation they made is what gave me and my siblings the ability to be successful people in this world. today made me realize (once again) that you can't remedy unsettling feelings by drowning them out with margaritas and microbrew. that just makes you drunk and unsettled.
hell, i don't even know why i write this shit on these boards.
probably because it's there.
and anybody else i'd say this to would just give me advice.

felidae have a behavioral imperative which does not include morality.
they are bred and born with the equivalent of Piss On It deeply etched in their unconscious.
