I also got the new At The Drive In, it's fantastic and I highly recommend it to all you Radiohead fans out there, it's like if Radiohead ever got realy angry.
The new Rage Against the Machine was not as good as I had expected. The covers fo Renegades of Funk and Street Fighting Man were really good, but I wasn't that impressed with the rest of it. And their cover of Beautiful World by DEVO proves once and for all that RATM completly lacks any sense of irony.

- The At the Drive In disc is awesome! It's the first brand new disc I have had in a long time that wasn't dubbed or copied. I love it, although the Radiohead comparison has me puzzled. I think that they sound a lot like Fugazi, and other bands of that genre. I'll have to send Sem a copy of that new radiohead, cause it doesn't sound like that.

I like them better than Radio head actually. I mean, Radiohead are good and all, but there are plenty of bands just as good.
I got a tip that Kid A was at the Deaf Ear used last night, but when I got there it was gone. However, they did have the first They Might Be Giants album, and I also picked up Iron Maiden's "Number of the Beast" and "Powerslave".
that's where all the rock rock rock above comes in.

- I do have OK Computer. In fact, I listened to it today. I still think that there is a similarity in song structure between that album and At The Drive In. I hear similarities to Hum as well, and even ManRay19.
Rock is doing well, I think. Iron Maiden, Motorhead and AC/DC all put out new albums, plus you have bands like ATDI, System of A Down, etc. Ween's last album was killer, and if you want to talk about the Rock, Queens of the Stone Age, baby!

Speaking of shows, I just saw Mavis' exhibit up in the UP and it was great, her best work. Most of her stuff sold, and I bought three pieces myself. She is going to take slides of the work, and I will try to get her to post them, if possible. Otherwise, I'll take photos of the ones I bought when I get them and let you see them. I've been feeling very domestic this week. With both Apparissus and Jess out cold with a Flu, I've been cooking, doing dishes, making tea, pampering, etc. I know I've got it too, but so far it's very mild.
I was up too late last night. We had a rediculous amount of dirty dishes, and I had been really wanting to progress far enough in the additions to my site to at least make them functional.

- missin' that boy something awful. not the hopeful that dumped me but the sure thing that got me over it and did my woeful heart a good turn. why does stuff that's so easy for everybody else I know of turn complicated when it comes down to me? i.e., why can't I meet a single man who's really free and not just about to start divorce proceedings and thus isn't really single and free yet? how come I don't meet them the day after the divorce is final but manage to cross paths somewhere just after the soon to be ex hightailed it to cheatsville; and now we have to put everything on hold til it's legal and finished? how come my dream man has to shake off a snake-hearted bit of lying cheating party girl to leave him wounded and beat and then I get to come along and pick up what's left of him? How come bi-atches like her ALWAYS, and I do mean, ALWAYS have men around them in droves for their pick and choosin' and the nice girls get 'em after they're done? Is there any justice?

People love to be
tortured, to feel bad. To
feel like they are with
someone who might
be "better" than them.
Why would someone
be with someone nice?
There are those who
do, but you have to look
hard.
I guess I've been
posting about my girl
experiences lately,
here's another you
might find funny. or
sad.:
I had a crush on a girl
for several months. I
really liked her and
was always nice. Yet
she'd always cancel
out on our dates for
(my opinion) shitty
reasons. So I pretty
much gave up. I
actually had set
another date and then
my grandpa died and I
cancelled on the date.
She said "I'm sorry"
and I said "Ehh, I'll call
you back when his
condition changes." A
couple more emails
transpire, and I just
kind of treat her like
dirt. And the nature of
her emails change to
"miss you" and "let's
get together soon" and
all of that. What crap.
I want to see her and
tell her how I had a
crush on her and that
she broke my heart
and I am not interested
anymore. Cathartic.
And sadly I predict it'll
pique her interest.
Argh.
But remember this: if
you act like a hot sexy
bitch, people will treat
you like a hot sexy
bitch. And then when
you can wrangle them
sufficiently, you can be
nice again. Or you can
do things the long and
patient way.
